Man United take on Southampton in their first away game of the 2021/22 season and both Edinson Cavani and Raphael Varane could be in line to feature in the matchday squad.
Cavani went back home on an extended holiday while Varane was introduced to the club just last weekend during the Leeds United game.
But Solskjaer has hinted that both of them have gotten training minutes under their belt and could get some game time against the Saints.
The manager said, pre-match press conference: “With regard to team news, that’s a boost as well, Edinson’s joined in, Raphael’s joined in and we’re getting fitter and fitter,
“You’ll see on Sunday. They’ve worked well. They’ve had minutes. We’ve had a very good week ourselves.
“We’ll see who’s making the flight down to Southampton on Saturday.”
Edinson Cavani & Raphael Varane to start against Southampton?
Raphael Varane did have some training sessions with Real Madrid before arriving at Manchester United so the defender is more than likely to get a starting role on Sunday.
Lindelof had a fine outing against Leeds United but if Raphael Varane is ready then he will obviously be the first-choice partner to Harry Maguire.

Edinson Cavani though should only get a place on the bench with Mason Greenwood starting upfront. And if needed, the South American will be called on some time in the second half.
Dean Henderson is the other big name who is still building up his fitness but as per his boss, the England international is still not ready to reclaim his No 1 spot.
The manager said: “He’s passed all the tests we’ve gone through with him.
“He’s training and building himself up again because he’s lost a few weeks. He’s working hard in the gym, working hard on the grass.”
