Liverpool are busy remoulding their squad as per their new manager Arne Slot and according to a report by HITC, the Anfield outfit wants to sign Arda Guler and Rodrygo from Real Madrid.
Slot is going to be backed with several new arrivals as per major English reports and stabilising the attacking department is a major point of focus for Liverpool right now. The Reds could lose Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz both of whom have been linked with FC Barcelona and even Mo Salah has entered the final year of his contract and Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad are once again showing interest in the Egyptian international.
Regarding replacements, Rodrygo is a proper attacker who can play in every position in the attacking third while Arda Guler is a No 10 but the youngster can also operate as a right-winger.
Will Real Madrid allow both Arda Guler and Rodrygo to leave?
Liverpool aren’t the only club who are being linked with Rodrygo because Manchester City are also interested in signing him but both these sides will have to shell out around €120-240 million for the Brazilian international. Madrid are reportedly not interested in selling the forward but they will entertain offers which are better than his current market value.
With the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick set to come in, Rodrygo will see his game time diminish next season but as per the experts, he is willing to stay at the Bernabeu and fight for his position.
Unless Liverpool are ready to shell out a fortune, Rodrygo is not going to leave Real Madrid but there’s a chance that Adra Guler could be allowed to move out.
Liverpool won’t be able to land the 19-year-old on a permanent deal but a season-long loan move is very much possible because Arda Guler is still an unfinished product and Carlo Ancelotti could send him to Anfield to get him some experience and game time.
This season, he featured in only 10 La Liga games for the Los Blancos and in these matches, the youngster was on the pitch for only 379 minutes. These numbers will have to get significantly better this campaign which could only happen if he opts for a temporary exit.
Arda Guler is shaping up to be a future superstar but he will need to play consistently which is not going to happen at the Bernabeu next season. Either, he remains in Madrid and sits on the bench or chooses to leave on loan and gather some senior minutes.
In conclusion, Liverpool won’t agree to spend €100-plus million on a player of Rodrygo’s profile this summer but a loan signing of Arda Guler is very much on the cards given that the Turkish international is willing to move to England for the 24/25 season.
