Rhian Brewster to Swansea City
Swansea City

Scottish Premiership side Rangers FC have made an official approach to sign 20-year-old Rhian Brewster from Liverpool, as per Read Liverpool.

The exclusive report claims: “Rangers have made an enquiry about the availability of Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster, as the Glasgow-based club would like to take him on loan for the entire 2020/21 season, a source has exclusively told Read Liverpool.

“There have been various reports suggesting that Steven Gerrard was showing an interest in taking the 20-year-old to Scotland for the season and we have been told that Rangers have officially approached the player’s representatives to gauge in a potential loan move.”

The youngster has come up through the ranks at Liverpool and this season he has been sent out on loan to Swansea City. He moved to Swansea in January and in 11 Championship matches he’s played so far, the centre-forward has scored four goals.

Will Rhian Brewster choose a move to Rangers?

Steven Gerrard is really enthusiastic about getting his hands on the youngster but there are fears that Swansea City might beat him to the signing.

Brewster has been given permission to remain at the club for the remainder of the season and some rumours claim that Steve Cooper is eager to hold onto him for the 2020/21 campaign as well.

This news will be a big blow for the Gers manager who is looking to add a new centre-forward to his ranks during the summer transfer window. But if Swansea want him to stay, there’s every chance Rhian Brewster might snub a move to Scotland.

The youngster will want to stay as close to home as possible and playing in the Championship will undoubtedly be a much bigger challenge for him.

Klopp should not have any major issues in sending the 20-year-old to Rangers under the guidance of Gerrard but we feel the player will have the final say in this whole arrangement meaning the Gers manager will now have to convince him to snub a move to Swansea and join them next season.
