Arsenal could try and hijack Spurs’ bid for this 25Y/O forward after missing out on Raphinha: Major headaches for Conte?

Arsenal could try and challenge Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Richarlison now that they look all set to miss out on Raphinha.

Chelsea have been able to hijack Arsenal’s move for Raphinha and as per the latest updates, the Blues are almost close to the finish line.

The Gunners have missed out on a gem of a signing but this could turn out to be an issue for Antonio Conte because now there are growing fears that Arsenal will shift their focus to Richarlison.

Spurs are very much focused on signing the Everton man and as per Fabrizio Romano, the Lilywhites are already in advanced talks with the player as well as the Toffees.

He has updated: “Tottenham are progressing in talks with Everton for Richarlison. Negotiations are already well advanced on personal terms, while discussions between clubs will continue this week.

“Winks has also been part of the talks – structure of the deal not agreed yet.”

Will Arsenal try and challenge Spurs in the Richarlison deal?

Arsenal had been linked with Richarlison a few weeks ago but those rumours had dried out once they put their focus on Raphinha. However, with the Leeds winger all set to join Chelsea, the Gunners will have no other option but to start scouting other forward options.

Everton are more than willing to part ways with the Brazilian so this one could be an easy target for Arsenal but we doubt if the player will want to snub Tottenham’s offer.

At Spurs, Richarlison will not only get the chance to play in the Champions League next season but since Bergwijn is set to leave the club, there will also be plenty of chances for him to prove his worth.

Once Bergwijn leaves, Antonio Conte will have only a handful of forwards left at his disposal so we expect Richarlison to choose Tottenham over their North London rivals.

Also, Everton are interested in signing Harry Winks meaning if the Lilywhites are willing to offer the midfielder in a cash-plus-player deal, there’s no way Arsenal will be able to compete.
