Chelsea face Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday and this game should see the return of both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

The two forwards have been on the sidelines for a few weeks now after both of them had picked up injuries at the same time. Lukaku went out with an ankle injury while the German was out with a hamstring problem.

On Monday, Romelu Lukaku posted a photo on his Instagram where he can be seen going through the paces at Chelsea’s training base. And while there’s no official update about Werner’s fitness but we are confident that he too will return on Saturday.

Their absence though has not troubled Thomas Tuchel since the Blues have managed to hold onto the top spot on the league table.

Kai Havertz has done more than a decent job in the absence of Romelu Lukaku and Werner but now that the pair are set to return, the Chelsea boss might have a slight selection dilemma.

Will Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner start against Leicester City?

Lukaku and Werner have been playing as a pair since the start of the 2021/22 season but their absence meant Thomas Tuchel had to slightly alter his system.

Now that these two have returned, we are expecting that Kai Havertz will move back to the bench in order to make way for them.

In the previous three Premier League games, Kai Havertz has put in very good shifts but he’s managed to score only one goal so we imagine that pushing him down the pecking order should not be too big of a problem for the Chelsea manager.

Romelu Lukaku has also not scored since the 19th of September but he’s the marquee signing of this season so Tuchel is bound to give him more opportunities.

Werner, on the other hand, is one of the manager’s favourites because of the work rate he puts in and this is why if he is 100% fit then the German is bound to find a place in the first XI on Saturday.
