Chelsea face Tottenham Hotspur in an all-important Premier League game this weekend and according to some experts, it’s time for Tuchel to drop Romelu Lukaku.

Romelu Lukaku has failed to live up to the hype this season and he was once again a shadow of his former self during Chelsea’s draw vs Brighton.

In the midweek game, the forward had only one shot on target meaning he’s not found the back of the net in his previous four matches. Lukaku’s explosive interview(expressing his love for Inter Milan) hasn’t helped his cause either and according to the latest gossip, the manager should now consider bringing in someone like Kai Havertz into the side.

Lukaku is just running the channels without contributing anything and if he does the same against Spurs then the likes of Sanchez and Ben Davies are going to have a jolly outing.

Will Romelu Lukaku be dropped or will Kai Havertz partner him?

At Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku was the star of the show and everything was built around him. But at Chelsea, he’s being forced to be a team player.

And this is something the forward cannot adapt to right now.

So far, he’s netted only five goals in 15 Premier League games and this isn’t the output you expect from your marquee summer signing.

He’s been able to mend the bridges with Thomas Tuchel after being frozen out for a brief period but if his performances do not get better then he’ll be warming the benches once again.

But against a team like Tottenham, we don’t think Tuchel will have the courage to drop someone like Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku knows Conte’s plans in and out so the Chelsea boss could use his experience with the ex-Inter boss to unhinge Spurs on Sunday.

Hudson-Odoi had played alongside Lukaku in midweek but this weekend either Timo Werner or Kai Havertz is going to come into the starting XI. With both Eric Dier and Romero missing, we have a feeling, the Chelsea boss might be enticed to use the pace of Werner alongside Romelu Lukaku.
