Ross Barkley wanted by Man United

West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley as Moyes continues his hunt for a new midfielder.

Scottish Premiership side Celtic FC are very much interested in signing the Chelsea misfit but according to Journalist Simon Phillips(h/t Claret and Hugh) a host of Premier League sides, including the Hammers are keen to bring Barkley on board.

The midfielder was one of the top-rated youngsters in England but he’s failed to live up to the hype. After moving out of Everton, his career has gone downwards and since 2018, he’s played just about 100 games for Chelsea.

Last season, he made only six Premier League appearances for the Blues and it’s very much clear that Thomas Tuchel has no use of him right now.

Where will Ross Barkley end up playing?

Celtic FC have already made an offer to Ross Barkley but it’s his high wages which is going to be an issue for the Premiership club.

He currently earns £ 120,000 a week at the club but if he wants to join Celtic then he will have to take a massive pay cut.

The interest from West Ham United will be pretty tempting for the midfielder but we don’t think David Moyes is going to make any sort of formal offers.

Yes, Moyes wants to sign a new midfielder but Barkley has been badly out of form in recent seasons so there’s very little chance he will be moving to the London Stadium in the next few weeks.

Brighton and Newcastle United have also been mentioned in the list of suitors but both these sides are doing pretty well and right now, they do not need to make a desperate signing like Ross Barkley.

As things stand, Celtic FC is the most likely destination for the 28-year-old, if he wants to play regularly but for this move to happen, he will have to lower his wage demands significantly.
