Arsenal are not interested in signing this Bundesliga winger but should Arteta change his plans now?

Serge Gnabry playing for Arsenal

Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry had been recently linked with Arsenal but according to Fabrizio Romano, the winger is not on Arteta’s transfer wishlist.

Gnabry has been one of the key players for Bayern in recent years and according to various sources, Mikel Arteta has been keen to bring him back to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

However, Romano has claimed that Serge Gnabry is not on Arsenal’s radar and the German international can still sign a new deal with Bayern.

He wrote on Twitter: “Understand Arsenal are not working to sign Serge Gnabry. He’s not in the list, as things stand – Arsenal are now focused on different targets.

“Gnabry has FC Bayern new contract proposal still available – no decision made yet on player side.”

Should Arsenal reignite their interest in Serge Gnabry?

Gnabry’s first stint with Arsenal was highly unsuccessful so we can understand why Arteta will hesitate to bring him back but it’s also true the club are badly in need of a new forward.

They might have signed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City but only one forward signing won’t do for the club and right now, they are not having any prominent luck in signing another attacker.

They have missed on Richarlison who’s gone ahead and joined Tottenham and as things are panning out, the Gunners are also going to miss out on Raphinha.

In such a scenario, it will make sense if they try and bring Serge Gnabry on board.

Firstly, he will be available on a bargain deal because he’s yet to sign a new contract with Bayern and since 2018, the winger has scored 64 goals in just 171 games across all competitions.

Serge Gnabry is primarily a right-winger but can also play on the left-hand side which means Mikel Arteta can add depth and competition on either flank by signing only a single player.

We firmly believe the Arsenal boss should reignite his interest in the 26-year-old because he has that much-needed experience of playing at the highest level.
