Sergio Reguilon put in a fine display against Manchester United in the Europa League semi-final on Sunday and ever since that match, the player’s link with Chelsea have just gotten stronger.

The Premier League side want to sign a new centre-back and as per some reports, Sergio Reguilon could be that man(since he’s a much cheaper alternative to Ben Chilwell).

But as per the latest updates, it’s Serie A side Napoli who are actually leading the race to sign the 23-year-old full-back during the ongoing transfer window.

talkSPORT are claiming: “The Blues have been strongly linked with a move for the defender, who is seen as a cheaper alternative to Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.

“According to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, the Serie A club are front-runners to land the Spaniard.

“Reguilon, who has three years remaining on his Madrid deal, was voted the best left-back in the LaLiga last season after impressing on loan at Sevilla.

“It is understood Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Napoli are also tracking the progress of the 23-year-old.”

Where will Sergio Reguilon play next season?

If they push hard enough, Chelsea have a great chance of signing Sergio Reguilon this summer but we think Frank Lampard is fixated on Ben Chilwell.

Multiple reports have suggested that Chiwell is Chelsea’s first-choice target(despite Leicester City wanting £80m for him) and the London outfit will only move for Sergio Reguilon if they are unable to bring the English international on board.

But now with Napoli reportedly leading the race, Lampard will have to make a final call on whether he wants to try and sign Reguilon from Real Madrid or spend truckloads of money on the Leicester City full-back.
