Chelsea have reportedly shown interest in signing Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon but the player has not ruled out staying at Sevilla.

The 23-year-old spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Sevilla and when he was asked about his future he claimed that playing for the Rojiblancos is an option if Real Madrid allow him to.

He told Marca: “If the year at Sevilla had not been good, this would not happen. These teams would not ring. If I am fine, the team is fine and the club is fine, everyone is happy. I do not look at those possibilities now. I’m sorry if it sounds like a cliché.

“I’ve been saying from quarantine until you finish the whole season will not talk about my future. until then it would be a mistake to talk about this for me, for my classmates and by the club.

“We should talk about that[staying at Sevilla] sitting quietly with Madrid, my representative, with everyone. And see the possibilities for next year, let’s see what happens. I don’t know,”

Will Chelsea miss out on Sergio Reguilon?

Frank Lampard is eyeing Sergio Reguilon as a cheaper alternative to Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell and as per some rumours, the Blues are already in advanced talks with the left-back.

The full-back has been a stellar performer for Sevilla but if Chelsea are seriously interested in signing him then there’s no way that Sevilla will be able to hold onto him.

Real Madrid are more than willing to cash in on him this summer and if the Blues make a lucrative bid then Zidane will send Sergio Reguilon to the Premier League at the blink of an eye.

Ben Chilwell still remains in Chelsea’s radar but we do not think Lampard will be too eager to spend 80-odd million pounds on a left-back this summer.

During the 2019-20 season, Sergio Reguilon played in 31 La Liga matches for Sevilla scoring two and assisting four goals.
