Arsenal are on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Alexandre Lacazette and as per The Telegraph, Mikel Arteta has registered an interest in Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham.

Matt Law writes: “Arsenal are interested in Tammy Abraham who Chelsea have already offered to a number of clubs as part of their search for a new striker.

“As revealed by Telegraph Sport in June, Chelsea have explored whether or not Borussia Dortmund would be interested in signing Abraham as part of a bid for Erling Haaland.

“Chelsea would preferably like to find a buyer for Abraham, who they value at £40million, before committing to a big-money bid for one of their main striker targets.

“That has alerted Arsenal, among other Premier League clubs, although the Gunners are likely to need to sell players to get near Chelsea’s asking price.”

Will Tammy Abraham choose Arsenal or Aston Villa?

Tammy Abraham has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel took charge and in the last few days, the Blues have even tried to use him as a counterweight in the Erling Haaland deal.

But now that BVB have rejected this cash plus player proposal, Arsenal have a real chance of signing the centre-forward this summer.

Yes, Aston Villa are also keen to bring Abraham on board but if a club like Arsenal want to sign him, we don’t think the Chelsea misfit will be too eager to head to Villa Park.

Obviously, that would depend on what happens to Alexandre Lacazette in the next month and a half.

At the moment the Gunners are struggling to find a buyer for the Frenchman and if they cannot offload him before the transfer window shuts down, we have a feeling Tammy Abraham will not be too inclined to move to North London.

Any club he joins, the England international will want regular playing time next season and if Lacazette sticks around, Tammy Abraham will be better of joining Aston Villa.

Chelsea value the 23-year-old at around £40m, a price which should not be too big a problem for Arsenal, despite them missing out on Europe.
