Jose Mourinho wants to sign this Chelsea misfit this summer: Will he join a PL rival instead?

James Maddison and Tammy Abraham

AS Roma have appointed Jose Mourinho as their new manager and it looks like the Portuguese is going to raid his ex-club Chelsea in the hopes of signing Tammy Abraham.

Tammy Abraham has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea ever since Thomas Tuchel took charge at the club and there a massive chance that the 23-year-old will be playing for a new club in the 2021-22 season. This past season, the striker played in only 22 Premier League games, scoring six goals.

The latest reports in England claim that despite having very little playing time during the second half of the season, Abraham has no shortage of suitors with close to half a dozen sides eager to bring him on board.

Jose Mourinho has seen Tammy Abraham from really close quarters when he was in England and he thinks the 23-year-old will be a perfect fit at Roma for his new project.

Roma are not the only club that have registered an interest in him since Leicester Mercury are claiming that clubs like West Ham United, Aston Villa and Leicester City are also preparing offers.

Where will Tammy Abraham play next season?

Chelsea will have no problems in offloading Tammy Abraham during the summer meaning the suitors will have to really try hard to get their hands on the forward.

If he moves to Roma then he will have a great chance at winning trophies thanks to the reputation of Jose Mourinho. But we doubt if Tammy Abraham will want to move to the Serie A at such an early stage of his career.

Clubs like Aston Villa, Leicester and West Ham are also interested in him so he can easily continue his development in England next season.

Both Leicester City and West Ham will be in Europe next season so moving to either one of these clubs will be a much more sensible choice for the striker.

David Moyes is actively looking for a centre-forward while Brendan Rodgers’ is also searching for a long-term replacement to Jamie Vardy. So, as things stand, Tammy Abraham is much more likely to remain in the Premier League once he packs his bags from Chelsea in the next few months.
