Arsenal are set to be rivalled by Aston Villa in the race to sign Chelsea’s 23-year-old forward Tammy Abraham, according to The Telegraph.

The Gunners have been eyeing a move for the Chelsea misfit for several weeks but it looks like they are about to face some stiff competition in this transfer race from Villa.

The report suggests: “Aston Villa are trying to land two former loan players with deals for Tammy Abraham and Axel Tuanzebe.

“Abraham, 23, helped Villa get promoted to the Premier League three seasons ago before returning to Chelsea to be part of their first-team squad, although will be allowed to leave this summer for £40 million.

“After agreeing a deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Jamaica winger Leon Bailey, Abraham is their preferred option as a centre-forward.”

Will Tammy Abraham choose a move to Villa over Arsenal?

Arsenal are having a woeful time in the transfer market this summer as they have already lost Emi Buendia to Aston Villa. And now, if they are not careful then Tammy Abraham will also slip away.

The Telegraph are claiming that Chelsea want £40 million for the forward but some rumours have suggested the Blues are even ready to accept £30 million.

Both these prices suit Aston Villa perfectly so there’s no way they will back out from this fight.

Another major plus for Villa is that Tammy Abraham has already spent a loan season at the club so he’s likely to be more comfortable at heading to Villa Park rather than the Emirates.

Also, Arsenal are struggling to offload Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah and unless they can get rid of these two centre-forwards, there’s no way they will be able to convince Tammy Abraham to join them.

Arsenal are also keeping tabs on Lautaro Martinez but the Inter Milan forward is valued at around £70 million, making him an almost impossible target.
