Rangers and Celtic FC have both started the 2020-21 SPFL season with a win but it was the Bhoys who once again looked a dominant force.

While the Gers managed to pick up a hard-fought 1-0 win over Aberdeen, Celtic FC started where they left off last season, thumping five goals past Hamilton.

Some pundits have predicted that Steven Gerrard has finally managed to gather a strong enough side to stop the Parkhead outfit from picking yet another Premiership title but according to Alex Bruce, the Gers will come nowhere close to challenging Neil Lennon’s side.

Bruce told Football Insider“Start as you mean to go one, Celtic are the frontrunners and anybody that is going to knock them off their perch will have to do exceptionally well.

“Listen, I believe that Celtic will run away and win the league again, I can’t see anyone even being close to them.

“It was a great start for Neil Lennon and I’m sure he’ll want to continue in that vein of form.”

The way Celtic FC have started the current season, they clearly mean business and it will take a lot of effort from Gerrard’s men to stop the juggernaut from picking up 10 in a row.

Lennon’s men finished 13 points clear of Rangers last season and this time around, the Gers will have to ensure that they do not fall so far behind so that they have a fighting chance towards the end of the campaign.

Next up, Celtic will take on Kilmarnock at Rugby Park while Rangers FC will host St Mirren at Ibrox, on Sunday.
