Chelsea picked up a 2-1 win vs Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday and next up they welcome Manchester City at home in midweek.

Both these teams go into the clash at the back of a win with City scoring five past Burnley on Monday. And due to this, many people think the visiting team will have the upper hand at Stamford Bridge and should be able to pick up all three points.

Pundit Michael Owen though believes this match will have plenty of goals in it and will possibly end in a 2-2 draw.

He wrote for BetVictor: “After hammering Burnley 5-0 on Monday night, Manchester City sent a clear message to everyone that they aren’t going to take their foot off the pedal between now and the end of the season.

“They have won six of their last seven matches against Chelsea, in all competitions, but I think this Chelsea side look made of sterner stuff than some of the Chelsea teams of recent times.

“Chelsea showed real character in coming from a goal down at Aston Villa at the weekend and they have plenty of promising young talent as well as a nice mix of seasoned pros.

“Both teams have a goal threat everywhere you look and I really do think we could be in for a treat to round off Matchday 31. I’m going for an entertaining 2-2 draw.”

Many people thought Guardiola will use his second-string players for the remainder of the season now that the Premier League title has already slipped away from them.

But clearly that has not been the case as the Citizens have managed to net eight goals in their past two matches, keeping clean sheets in both of them.

Chelsea will not take everything lying down either since the only way Lampard can ensure Champions League football next season is by picking up as many wins as possible in this campaign.

So goal-fest or not, but we can assure you that neither of the two sides will be eager to park the bus at Stamford Bridge in midweek.
