Man United will take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League and there’s a big chance that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might rest a few of his big-name players.

The manager has been naming an unchanged XI for a series of consecutive matches but with the FA Cup clash vs Chelsea coming up this weekend, Solskjaer was asked if he would rotate his starting line-up at Selhurst Park on Thursday night.

The manager said in his pre-match press conference: “The team selection for Thursday is based on Thursday, not on Sunday. Sunday is irrelevant, it doesn’t come into my head at all. It’s just Thursday, so we’ll see.

“The injury situation, there were a couple of doubts before the Southampton one, but they all reported fit on the day.

“And hopefully, we can give them time now and not having to leave players out because of injury, but as you say, there might be one or two fresh legs coming in.”

“Keep on doing what we have been doing. Just trust ourselves, trust yourself. You’re at a club where it always boils down to the last couple of weeks or two or three games in the season anyway, so we’ve done fantastic since we restarted.

“We started with a draw against Tottenham of course, but then had a great run. Now that little bit of a setback is a test for mentalities.”

Will key Man United players be rested?

There have been ample suggestions that the Man United boss could rest players like Bruno Fernandes or Paul Pogba in midweek but we do not think he will try and take such a big risk.

After dropping points vs Southampton, Manchester United need to win each one of their final three league matches and for that to happen, Solskjaer will have to name his strongest XI.

With the injuries to Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams, there could be a change in formation but we do not think there will be a difference in personnel vs Palace just cause Man United will have to face Chelsea on Sunday.
