Arsenal are ready to sell this first-team player amidst strong Serie A interest: A major blunder from Arteta?

Thomas Partey Arsenal FC

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey could be allowed to leave with two Serie A clubs interested in signing him, as per The Mirror.

The midfielder joined the Gunners in 2020 but since moving to England, he’s become massively injury prone. He’s also seen a dip in form this season and in the previous three matches, Mikel Arteta has preferred Jorginho over him.

Partey’s contract expires in 2025 but the Arsenal manager is planning a midfield overhaul and hence the 29-year-old could be sold in the summer.

Two Serie A sides have been keen on signing Thomas Partey and if the right offer comes in then Mikel Arteta will not say no.

Will Arsenal make a mistake by selling Thomas Partey?

Thomas Partey was the player who solidified Arsenal’s midfield but his performance graph is going down and with the Gunners getting back into the Champions League this is the ideal time for an overhaul.

Arsenal have been linked with Declan Rice and if they can somehow bring in the West Ham United midfielder then they don’t need Partey.

However, Rice has a 100 million pounds price tag which is why the Gunners are also monitoring Moises Caicedo.

Granit Xhaka is on his way to the Bundesliga so it will be really risky to let Thomas Partey leave as well. The North London side will have to have an ideal replacement in place before they can allow Partey to leave.

They could also sign N’Golo Kante as a free agent so we can understand why this Partey’s exit news is doing the rounds.

In conclusion, Thomas Partey is still a key asset to the team so Mikel Arteta will have to think this one through. If he ends up selling the Ghanaian international and then fails to sign a proper replacement then it will be a disaster for the team.
