Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a new midfielder for the next season and as per Dean Jones, both Arsenal and Spurs have a great chance of getting their hands on Youri Tielemans

The two North London sides have been linked with the Leicester City midfielder for more than a year now and according to the football insider, Tielemans looks destined to leave the King Power at the end of this season.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “Brendan Rodgers thinks he might have hit his ceiling and it’s a pretty big shout, but he has seen a lot of him.

“We know that Tielemans has got ambitions to play elsewhere, so if Arsenal or Tottenham come in for him, I think they can get him. He’s definitely on Arsenal’s radar, but Tottenham want him as well.”

Will Leicester City allow Youri Tielemans to leave?

Tielemans’s current deal expires in 2023 and Brendan Rodgers has more or less accepted the fact that he will be leaving in the summer.

In the previous few months, the manager has hinted several times that the club are already planning life without Youri Tielemans and it makes perfect sense to cash in on him this summer rather than lose him for free next year.

His current market value is £50 million and if Leicester push hard enough they will be able to get around £40 million from his sale and that’s a very neat amount for someone who is about to end the final year of his contract.

Should Youri Tielemans join Arsenal or go to Spurs?

Spurs have found the perfect midfield pairing in the form of Bentancur and Hojbjerg so to be really honest, Antonio Conte does not have any major need for Tielemans.

Bentancur has adapted perfectly at Spurs so if Youri Tielemans chooses Tottenham over Arsenal, he will have to prove his worth all over again.

Arsenal, on the other hand, need a long-term replacement for Granit Xhaka and someone like Youri Tielemans can be the ideal fit. With the Gunners, the 25-year-old will be able to get consistent game time next season because Mikel Arteta has every plan to push Xhaka down the pecking order as soon as he signs a world-class central midfielder.

Leicester City have been missing out on the Champions League for a few seasons so the midfielder will also want top-tier European football from his new club. If Arsenal can secure the fourth spot on the league table then they will definitely move ahead of their North London rivals in this transfer race.
