Chelsea winger Willian is not going to sign a new deal with the Stamford Bridge outfit as Frank Lampard more or less seems to have sealed his exit.

Even though the Blues had offered him a new deal but the Brazilian has chosen to reject it and will move out at the end of this season on a free transfer.

A report in ESPN had claimed: “Willian has agreed a three-year contract at Arsenal worth around £100,000-a-week, sources have told ESPN, with the move expected to be announced later this month.

“Blues head coach Frank Lampard wanted Willian to stay and has been pushing the club to find a breakthrough in negotiations, which have been deadlocked for months.

“However, sources have told ESPN that Lampard has failed to persuade the Chelsea hierarchy to sort a new contract for Willian and Mikel Arteta has stepped in to secure the midfielder, who won two league titles and the Europa League at Chelsea.”

And speaking ahead of Chelsea’s game against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Frank Lampard has wished Willian well for his adventures outside of Stamford Bridge next season.

The Chelsea boss said, as reported: “In terms of being disappointed, certainly as a club I think we have done everything we can to explain to Willian, and mine and his relationship is really close.

“I would have no feeling of disappointment if he does move on. I’ve played with him, coached him, he’s a fantastic man and a fantastic player.

“I think he will feel like that about Chelsea, I’ll leave him to say his own words. But I don’t want anyone to try and find a negative attitude, because the club have acted very well in this as well.

“I don’t have the answer if he moves on I personally would wish him well. And that’s kind of where we’re at now.”

It’s almost certain now that Willian will not be a Chelsea player next season and according to various reports in England, Arsenal is going to be his next destination.

The Gunners have reportedly agreed on terms with the winger and as soon as Chelsea wrap up their European endeavours, the North London side are going to announce the transfer formally.

While Chelsea do have the players who can fill up the void left behind by Willian but we seriously think Lampard should have tried harder in order to hold onto the winger.
