This summer transfer window had a number of shocking moves and perhaps the biggest one was that of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid and moving to Juventus.

While that move might have looked a bad deal for the Italian side but they actually ended up paying less than what the Portuguese was actually valued at.

But there’s no denying that there were a number of transfer in which clubs had to shell out a lot more than what the player was actually worth.

And now The CIES Football Observatory have released a list which shows the worst transfer businesses during the summer and how much the clubs actually overpaid for the players.

And surprisingly the list is dotted with Premier League clubs who have paid way more than what players are worth.

And at the top of the list is Chelsea who paid a staggering €44.7 million more for the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Atletico Madrid.

West Ham United also make it to the list in the 12th spot for the signing of Felipe Anderson from Lazio where Manuel Pellegrini’s side paid 12.3 million more than the base price for the player.

Everton rank third on that list after they signed Barcelona’s Yerry Mina for €18.8 million more than what he is worth.

Defending Premier League champions Manchester City also make it to the list with the signing of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City.

Here’s the full list.
