Arsenal have been linked with Youri Tielemans for the longest time and according to David Ornstein, the Gunners are still interested in him.
The midfielder has one more year left on his current deal meaning he’s available in a bargain deal but according to The Athletic journalist, the Gunners will have to get rid of someone before they move for him.
Ornstein has claimed(h/t Sport Bible): “[Arsenal] want to do more business, I think they want to add a winger to what they’ve got & if they manage to get somebody in, I think they’ll be pretty happy.
“There will be some outgoings as well. Youri Tielemans is a player Arsenal like. Leicester City would sell with only a year to go on his contract
“But there’s no movement on that one yet & I think Arsenal would need to let someone go if they’re to bring someone in.”
Will Youri Tielemans end up joining Arsenal?
After Friday’s win, Mikel Arteta admitted that the club are still looking to bring in some new signings and there’s a big chance that one of them will be Youri Tielemans.
Tielemans is very much interested in joining Arsenal and if Arteta can get rid of someone in time then this deal is surely going to happen.
Players like Lucas Torreira, Bellerin and Nicolas Pepe have all been put up for sale and Torreira is on the verge of joining Galatasaray[at the time of writing this]. Maybe his exit will fuel the Tielemans move because some rumours are claiming that the Gunners are going to push for the midfielder this week.
Leicester City has identified Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar and they are ready to battle Nottingham Forest for his signing.
All this sudden movement is definitely a sign that Brendan Rodgers is preparing for Tielemans’ exit in the coming days so we can expect a formal bid from Arsenal very soon.
