Arsenal are still very much interested in signing Youri Tielemans but according to Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners will not find it easy to sign the Leicester City man.

The midfielder has just over a year left on his current deal but he is not going to sign a new deal which is why the Foxes have decided to cash in on him this summer.

Youri Tielemans wants a fresh challenge and for the longest time, the Gunners were the only side interested in him. However, Romano has revealed that two other clubs are also keeping tabs.

The Italian wrote on Twitter: “Arsenal are still interested in Youri Tielemans, plans have not changed. He’s a target for the midfield – but it’s not an imminent deal as negotiations will take some time.

“Two other clubs are also in the race for Tielemans, he’s gonna leave Leicester this summer.”

Should Arsenal battle the other suitors for Youri Tielemans?

The North London side were keen to sign Ruben Neves but the Wolves man is on his way to Barcelona so Youri Tielemans has become even more important now.

The Gunners have no chance at signing someone like Declan Rice and they are way down the pecking order in terms of signing Kalvin Phillips but Tielemans is the ideal candidate to replace Granit Xhaka.

Leicester City want around £30m for the midfielder and this is very much within Arsenal’s transfer budget for the summer.

Romano has not revealed the names of the other two interested clubs but we doubt if any of the other top-six sides want to sign Youri Tielemans. The Gunners will be playing in the Europa League next season and that is definitely a step up for Tielemans.

Arsenal won’t be able to find a better bargain deal for a midfielder so they have to go all out to try and sign the Leicester City star.
