Liverpool have been trying really hard to sign midfielder Youri Tielemans but as per The Daily Mail, things could get even tougher for the Anfield outfit.
The report claims: “Leicester will step up their efforts to tie Youri Tielemans to a new deal when the player returns from holiday later this month.
“A fresh contract would move Tielemans closer to top earners Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel, who each collect more than £100,000 a week.
“Reports during the European Championship suggested Tielemans was keen to play Champions League football, with Liverpool thought to be interested.
“But Leicester are under no pressure to sell the 24-year-old, and have received sizeable fees for their best players in recent seasons.”
Liverpool set to miss out on Youri Tielemans?
Jurgen Klopp wants to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City as the long-term replacement for Gini Wijnaldum who has moved out as a free agent.
Tielemans had a wonderful previous season with Leicester and despite missing out on Champions League football, the Foxes are under no pressure to sell the midfielder this summer.
And now these talks about offering him a new deal means Liverpool will find it almost impossible to get their hands on the Belgium international.

The central midfielder is currently valued at £49.50 million and his current deal expires in 2023. And this is the sole reason why the Foxes are so eager to tie him down to a new contract.
Tielemans has shown no signs of discontent at Leicester City so we doubt if he is will push for a move this summer. And maybe this is why Liverpool are equally focusing on signing Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid.
Saul will be available for a much cheaper price but the Anfield outfit will have to battle Manchester United and Barcelona for the signature of the Spanish midfielder.
