According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester United are going to rival Arsenal in the race to sign midfielder Yves Bissouma.
The Brighton and Hove Albion man has been a mainstay for the Seagulls since 2018 and he’s being viewed as the more inexpensive alternative to the likes of Youri Tielemans and Ruben Neves.
Arsenal are trying really hard to sign a new central midfielder and so far they have been linked with several players like Neves, Zinchenko and Tielemans. However, the Gunners are yet to finalise anyone which is why their scouting hasn’t stopped.
Now, Manchester United have also joined the bandwagon since Erik ten Hag is also searching for a new central midfielder. Matic and Paul Pogba have both left the club so it’s an open secret that the new boss needs midfield reinforcements.

Can Yves Bissouma be a success at either of these clubs?
Yves Bissouma is a midfielder with vast amounts of Premier League experience and to date, he’s played 124 games across all competitions for Brighton.
He is primarily a central midfielder but can also play in a more defensive role and one of his biggest traits is to provide an extra defensive screen for the back line.
At the same time, when Yves Bissouma is used alongside a proper defensive midfielder the 25-year-old can play with a lot more freedom and can also contribute in and around the final third.
He plays primarily as a No.8 meaning he very much has the box-to-box abilities so he has all the recipes for success at Arsenal and also at Manchester United.
Which club is more likely to make a move for Yves Bissouma?
Both Arsenal and Manchester United are viewing Yves Bissouma as a cheaper alternative to their priority targets and they will only make a move for the Brighton man once they are sure they won’t be able to get their No 1 target.
Arsenal are very close to securing a deal for Youri Tielemans so we don’t think they will need to shift their focus to Bissouma. They are also looking to sign Zinchenko( as a midfielder) and Arteta is confident of landing him as well.
However, Manchester United are frantically chasing Frenkie de Jong but that deal is embroiled in a lot of complexity so there’s every chance that the Red Devils will make a formal bid for Yves Bissouma.
United are ready to spend money for De Jong but the midfielder is not too keen to join a non-Champions League club and if his stance doesn’t change then the club will have no other options but to trigger their plan B.
