Zlatan Ibrahimovic injury

AC Milan will have a much stronger squad when take on Manchester United this week in the Europa League and the second leg could even see the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The San Siro side took a depleted squad to Old Trafford for the first leg but Pioli will have a lot more options at his disposal since players like Theo Hernandes, Ante Rebic, Jakan Calhanoglu, and Jens Petter Hauge were all part of the matchday squad against Napoli.

And according to Tuttomercatoweb, the second leg could also see the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the big Swede managed half a training session with the first-team squad earlier this week.

The report claims: “Good news for Stefano Pioli in view of the upcoming matches against Manchester United and Fiorentina.

“In fact, today Ismail Bennacer trained with the rest of the group and his recovery is therefore getting closer and closer. Zlatan Ibrahimovic instead did half training in a group and half personalized, with the Swede who will try to grit his teeth to return to Stefano Pioli’s disposal.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been the key player for AC Milan this season and even at the age of 39, the forward has managed to score 14 goals in 14 Serie A matches this season. But the player has been recovering from an abductor tear which is why we don’t think Pioli will want to rush him back into the matchday squad.

The AC Milan boss has already gotten a lot of players back from injury and if Bennacer can be ready for Thursday then he will have some pretty solid bench strength.

Rafael Leao played as the centre-forward in the first leg last week and he should be deployed in the same role this week as well.
