Liverpool take on Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday and Jurgen Klopp will certainly have some mixed feelings before selecting his team for the Man City vs Liverpool clash.
The biggest worry for the Reds was the doubt over Mo Salah unavailability after the Egyptian picked up a groin strain during the first leg at Anfield last week. Salah felt a slight strain in his groin region during the second half at Anfield and Jurgen Klopp immediately took him off.
After that, the winger did not feature in the 0-0 draw against Everton during the weekend and immediately a lot of reports started emerging that Mo Salah might not be available for the second leg.
Man City vs Liverpool: The bad news
Now though Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the forward is in contention to face Manchester City on Tuesday.
The Liverpool manager also added that Andy Robertson and Alberto Moreno should be available for selection in midweek.
Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “With Mo, Robbo and Alberto, we have to wait a little bit but of course [we have] big hope they will be back,
“Ben Woodburn is back after a long period and trained yesterday completely normal, which is really good for us.”
Man City vs Liverpool: The bad news
While the possible return of the above mentions players will be a big sigh of relief for the German manager but he will also be without some of his key players which will definitely hamper his selection process.
Emre Can is a long-term absentee due to a back injury which he picked up during the 5-0 victory over Watford in March. Some reports have also suggested that the German International might very well have played his last game in a Liverpool shirt.
Midfielder Jordan Henderson is also unavailable for the Man City vs Liverpool encounter owing to a suspension meaning both James Milner and Wijnaldum might start in midfield alongside Alex Oxlade Chamberlain on Tuesday.
