Chelsea are set to travel to Manchester once again to take on the blue half of Manchester on Sunday in the English Premier League.

The Blues are currently 2 points behind the 4th spot on the league table and if Spurs win their tie against Huddersfield on Saturday then that gap will go up to 5 points. So this game against the league leaders is a must win for Antonio Conte’s side in order to avoid falling further behind in the race for a Champions League spot. We take a look at Chelsea’s predicted line-up vs Man City.

CHELSEA TEAM NEWS:

David Luiz is out with an injury meaning that Antonio Conte only has four fit centre-backs from which he has to name three against Man City on Sunday. And we feel that he will name an unchanged central defence from the United game.

Tiemoue Bakayoko is also out with an injury meaning that N’Golo Kante will be partnered by Cesc Fabregas in central midfield. Conte opted for Danny Drinkwater against Manchester United which clearly reflected a defensive mindset. Hopefully, the Italian will not hold back this weekend.

Hazard was beautifully nullified by Scott McTominay last weekend but the Belgian still remains the best player on the pitch for Chelsea on any given day. Willian scored the only goal for the Blues at Old Trafford and will feature on the right flank.

Alvaro Morata will play as the lone striker and Olivier Giroud might come into the game in the second half – if required.

With the Champions League coming up Antonio Conte would have loved to have focus on the Barcelona game but he does not have that luxury with the tie hanging on a thread. If Chelsea fail to qualify for the next round of the Champions League then the top four will be their only route to playing in the top tier of Europe next season.
