Liverpool pulled off an incredible 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at Anfield and in the process once again proved that they are serious contenders for the Champions League trophy.

The Reds scored all the three goals in the first half and during this time it didn’t even look as if Manchester City were the Premier League leaders – that too by some distance.

Throughout the game, most Man City players were running around chasing shadows and it was only when Liverpool decided to sit back and defend their lead did Guardiola’s men got hold of the ball.

One player, in particular, looked languid and disoriented throughout the game – and that was Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian made it to the starting line up because Guardiola’s first choice striker, Sergio Aguero was injured.

But the performance that he came up with will surely not win him any followers.

Just look at his heat map from the game:

The forward has only 25 touches throughout the game and we can clearly see what a short part of the pitch he has covered during the 90 minutes.

In fact, his opposite number Roberto Firmino who also did not score any goals had almost double(46) the number of touches than Jesus.

Manchester City play the second leg of the encounter at the Etihad and they surely have given themselves a hard task to achieve – more so after they failed to get even a single away goal.
