Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made a startling revelation claiming that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was offered to his club during the January transfer window.
The City boss has said that Pogba’s manager Mino Raiola contacted the Blue Half of Manchester regarding the midfielder’s services but City did not take any interest because the player was too expensive.
Guardiola claimed: “I said no. We don’t have the money to buy Pogba because he is so expensive,”
The Spanish manager added that Raiola had also offered the services of Henrikh Mkhitaryan shortly before the Armenian moved to Arsenal.
Mino Raiola and Pep Guardiola have a long-standing feud and the agent had previously called Guardiola a “zero”, a “coward” and a “dog”.
This feud had originated when Guardiola was the manager of Barcelona and Raiola had claimed that his client Zlatan Ibrahimovic was forced out of Barcelona because of him.
And Friday while talking about the Pogba situation, Guardiola once again fired shots at the agent.
“Finally, the people discover my secrets – I am a bad guy, I’m a coward,” Guardiola said.
“So if I’m a bad guy, and he (Raiola) has to protect his players, then he has to know he cannot bring the players (to) a guy like me, who is a dog.”
