Chelsea have had a mixed season under new manager Maurizio Sarri but they have every chance of ending the campaign on a high.

The Blues have already secured qualification to the Champions League for the next season which was their primary objective and they will also be playing in the Europa League final later this month.

Maurizio Sarri now has the chance of finishing the season with a trophy which everyone believes will be enough for the Italian to keep his job.

But recent rumours are claiming that Roman Abramovich is planning to sack the manager no matter what the result of the UEL final is.

While a number of names have been put forward for the next manager at Stamford Bridge, but recently the name of former Blues midfielder Frank Lampard has been cited by many major publications.

Frank Lampard is currently managing Derby County and the former England international has had a really great season with The Rams.

But according to former Chelsea defender Tony Dorigo, Frank Lampard is still a novice in the managerial battleground and this is not the right time for him to take charge of his former club.

“I think he has done probably more than okay; certainly with Derby’s financial issues,” Dorigo told The James Gray Show(as reported).

“He could not keep all of their best players. What he has done, I think has been really good, is the style which I really do like.

“I certainly think he has done tremendously well. He will learn and learn and learn and you could see the type of man that he is. He will get there.

“He is determined. I think he is going to be the Chelsea manager one day and he is well on the way to doing there.”

Just like Dorigo, many pundits are against the idea of Frank Lampard becoming the next Chelsea manager primarily because of his lack of experience at such a big stage.

But the other major reason why Frank Lampard shouldn’t be the one to replace Maurizio Sarri is because of the transfer ban.

During a season why the club cannot buy any new players, the team certainly needs someone with vast experience to guide the players and manage the squad.
