Liverpool winger Harry Wilson spent the 2020-21 season out on loan with Cardiff City and the 24-year-old has really impressed with his performances once again.

With no place in the Liverpool first-team for him, Jurgen Klopp chose to send Wilson out on loan last summer and over the course of the year, the winger has netted seven goals and provided 12 assists in 37 Championship games.

Premiership side Rangers FC have been heavily linked with a summer move for Harry Wilson but the latest report from The Athletic claims that the Gers are yet to make any sort of official contact with Liverpool over this particular move.

The Athletic seldom provide any baseless news so it looks like Steven Gerrard is still pondering over a move for the Liverpool academy graduate. Obviously, this stance could change in the next couple of weeks but by then it might be too late.

Cardiff City are quite evidently impressed with Wilson’s performance this season and their chairman Mehmet Dalman has made it clear that they will be willing to sign the winger on a permanent deal should Liverpool be ready to sell.

“I would imagine Liverpool will be looking to sell him,” Dalman told BBC Radio Wales, as quoted.

“Liverpool knows our desire to have him back. If there’s any change in the circumstances there I’m pretty confident Liverpool will let us know.”

Liverpool should be looking for a buyer for Harry Wilson since the player will enter his final two years of his deal and he has no real chances of dethroning Mo Salah in the right-hand side of attack, And as per the gossip vines, the Anfield outfit will demand £15 million for him.

There’s no way Rangers FC will be able to match this asking price which automatically puts Cardiff City in the driver’s seat.

The only way Rangers FC can get their hands on Harry Wilson is if Steven Gerrard uses his connection at Liverpool to lower the asking price and then goes on to convince the Wales international to snub a move back to Cardiff and head to Scotland next season.
