Alexis Sanchez moved to Manchester United from Arsenal in early 2018 but the Chilean has turned out to be a massive flop at Old Trafford.

Sanchez got the nod ahead of Anthony Martial on the left flank after he arrived but his poor performances meant that the forward fell down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.

During the first half of the season, it was pretty clear that Mourinho preferred Martial over Alexis Sanchez and reports had emerged that the Chilean might move out of Man United this year.

Many pundits believe that the player’s fortune would change after Solskjaer was named the interim manager at the club.

But even Solskjaer has chosen to snub Alexis Sanchez.

Like his predecessor, Solskjaer has also used Anthony Martial ahead of the Chilean and hence Sanchez has found it really hard to get starts.

The former Gunner did get play for the second half against PSG in the Champions League but it was one of the poorest performances from the forward that we had seen in recent times.

Even the manager came out to claim that he cannot help Alexis Sanchez anymore and that the player needs to find form quickly.

Rumours are ripe that the player could head out of Manchester United at the end of the season and Marc Overmars feels that he should head back to Arsenal during the summer transfer window.

Speaking to ADN, the Ajax director of football said: “I have a lot of respect for Alexis because he did extremely well at Arsenal.

“I don’t know if it was a good decision to go.

“These types of players were really important for Arsenal because they push you to focus. Since Alexis, Arsenal have been trying to find another player like that, but they haven’t managed it.

“Therefore, he could go back to Arsenal.”

This season Alexis Sanchez has managed to play in only 14 Premier League games and most of these appearances have come off the bench.

And in these 14 games, the Chilean has scored only a single goal and provided three assists.
