Manchester United have let Alexis Sanchez leave on loan to Serie A side Inter Milan. But according to former United man Louis Saha, Solskjaer should have kept the Chilean at the club especially since they will be paying most of his wages.

Alexis Sanchez will be getting the same amount of wages this season as he had been getting at Man United but Inter Milan will not be paying the full amount.

As per reports, the Old Trafford outfit will still pay 3/4th of the player’s salary while the Italian side covers the rest. And this is why Louis Saha feels Man United shouldn’t have let him move out.

“It’s a strange one, I think Alexis got to a point where his confidence dropped,” the Frenchman told Stadium Astro(as reported by MEN).

“The terms of the agreement show he needed to move. He’s a great player with an abundance of skills and passion. But he couldn’t deliver for United, so having a deal where United pays is a bad deal.

“You would think he could remain there and help the side but mentally it was too exhausting,

“That’s why he wanted to move – he didn’t feel appreciated. It was really hard for him. The decision is not sustainable.”

VERDICT ON ALEXIS SANCHEZ:

Alexis Sanchez is easily one of the biggest flops that Man United have ever seen and we believe Ole did not sanction his exit because of the inflated wage bills.

The manager chose to let him move out because the forward did not fit into the Norwegian’s philosophy – something which has been stressing on ever since he took charge of the club.

It is very clear Ole wants a very certain brand of footballers at the club – ones who are willing to fight for him and the honour of the club. And anyone who does not fit the brief is being sacrificed.

Apart from Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku is also another player who was sold off because he did not fit into the manager’s ideology. So basically for the manager, it is my way or the highway.

Man United would have surely wanted to offload the forward permanently this summer but they could not find a buyer which is why the loan arrangement was chalked up.
