West Ham United have been linked with a move for Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos and it looks like the Hammers have a lifeline to sign the Colombian.

Alfredo Morelos was the top goal scorer for the Gers last season and earlier this month, Steven Gerrard had made it clear that he will only let him leave if the club have the time to bring in a suitable replacement.

“As a club, we haven’t got a decision to make because a bid hasn’t come in. Will it? Possibly.

“However, if it does happen, it won’t happen late. If someone wants to spend a lot of money on a centre forward and they want to take my centre forward, they’d have to come early.

“If he did end up going, he would be impossible to replace with only days or weeks remaining in the window.

“We don’t want him to go, we don’t want to sell him. But we all know every player has a price and I’m not going to sit here and say he’s not going out the door.

“If a bid lands that the board like and they want to accept, it’s a completely different conversation, but that hasn’t happened.

“The chairman is on the same page as me. We don’t have to sell and don’t want to sell.

“We understand that if a crazy bid lands on the table, you have to treat it seriously. But, if teams plan to wait until the last week of the window, they’re wasting their time.”

With the English transfer window closing on the 8th of August, everyone thought that it is too late for West Ham United to move for Alfredo Morelos.

Now though reports are suggesting that Steven Gerrard is willing to offload the striker if the Hammers chose to send Grady Diangana the other way.

The 21-year-old is highly rated at the London Stadium and a number of Championship clubs want to sign him on loan for the next season.

But with Daniel Candeias leaving Ibrox, Gerrard is hoping to fill up that void with Diangana in exchange for Alfredo Morelos.

It is still unclear whether Manuel Pellegrini will agree to the deal with some claiming that the Hammers are not eager to offload the player permanently anytime soon.

Having said that though, the London club have been wanting to sign Alfredo Morelos for some time now and they just might agree to send their right winger to Scotland in order to get their hands on the Colombian goal machine.
