Anthony Martial Man United news
Anthony Martial Man United

Man United welcome Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday and if reports are to be believed then Anthony Martial will not be a part of this game.

Martial has been deployed as the main frontman for United after the departure of Romelu Lukaku during the summer but the Frenchman has been struggling to keep himself fit during the course of the current season.

He has already missed eight games for Man United due to a hamstring injury and now as per Sky Sports, he has a muscular problem which could keep him out of the Man United vs Spurs encounter.

The report states: “Martial was substituted after 82 minutes of Sunday’s home draw with Aston Villa and Sky Sports News understands the France forward is struggling to overcome a muscular problem.”

If the rumour is indeed true then it will surely be a huge blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since the attackers are right now the only source of inspiration for Man United.

With Anthony Martial possibly out of the picture, Mason Greenwood is expected to start up from vs Spurs and this could be a real career-defining moment for the youngster.

Greenwood has shown flashes of brilliance this season but if he gets to play the full 90 minutes on Wednesday then he could really get a confidence booster.

As per Sky Sports, Ole is also planning a chance in formation as he will look to play three defenders at the back just like he did vs Sheffield United and also against Liverpool.

It is still unclear as to how long Anthony Martial will be out of action but it is more or less certain now that he is ruled out of the Spurs clash and possibly also of the Manchester Derby scheduled for the weekend.
