Arsenal looking to sign this 25 Y/O defender on a loan deal: Surprising?

Arsenal are reportedly looking to make a move for Manchester City defender John Stones during the January transfer window.

The Gunners have lost Calum Chambers to a long-term injury and fresh reports are suggesting that Shkodran Mustafi is also on his way out of the club which means Mikel Arteta is badly in need of defensive reinforcements this month.

And it seems like Mikel Arteta has chosen to go after a man who he knows very well.

Arteta had been closely working with John Stones during his time at Man City so he knows all the ins and outs about the central defender and now he could potentially benefit Arsenal in the long run.

A string of injuries have forced Stones to play in only 10 Premier League games this season and we feel Mikel Arteta knows that Guardiola might have been having thought about letting him leave.

The Gunners though are expected to move for a short-term loan deal since they spent large amounts of money during the summer and are unlikely to do the same during the middle of the season.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly trying to bring in a new defender this month and if that happens there’s a slight chance that the Man City boss could let John Stones leave.

But if the Spanish boss cannot make a new signing then there’s no way that he will sanction an exit of John Stones – more so since Aymeric Laporte has just returned back from a long-term injury.

We feel Mikel Arteta is just testing the waters to see if his former boss is willing to let Stones leave this month but various experts claim that the former Man City coach knows something that we don’t which is why he’s chosen to try and make this almost impossible move.
