Axel Tuanzebe started in central defence for Manchester United vs Astana in the Europa League in midweek and the manager has now hinted he could also feature vs Aston Villa.
Solskjaer’s men take on Villa in the Premier League on Sunday and it seems like the defender will be facing his former loan club.
Axel Tuanzebe spent two temporary spells at Villa Park including the whole of the 2018-19 season meaning the has a very good idea about the strengths and weaknesses of Dean Smith’s side and maybe this is why the manager is keen to hand him a start.
“Axel can do the team talk for us!” Ole admitted to reporters.
“Axel has done fantastic and he’s played for 90 minutes, after five minutes or 10 minutes against Sheffield United as well.
“He’s fit now and available and, as you said, he did well today.
“He gives me another headache but it’s a good headache. We’ve got players coming back. We’ve suffered from injuries badly and now we’re getting more and more back that will only help us.”
If Axel Tuanzebe does get a start at Old Trafford on Sunday then it would mean that Victor Lindelof could drop to the bench and this is something a lot of people do not want.
Last season, Man United hardly saw a steady defensive partnership but this time around Maguire and Lindelof have seen regular game-time which is something that shouldn’t be disrupted.
But there’s also the possibility that the manager could change his formation and play with a three-man defensive line on Sunday.
