Real Madrid head to England to take on Chelsea in the Champions League but the Spanish side could be without their manager Carlo Ancelotti, as per a report AS.

The Madrid boss had tested positive last week which forced him to miss the Celta Vigo game during the weekend and according to the Spanish outlet, he had tested positive on Sunday as well.

The PCR test on Sunday came back positive so Carlo Ancelotti is set to undergo another test on Monday. If he doesn’t test negative in that then there’s very little chance he will be sitting in the dugout on Wednesday night.

Against Celta Vigo, it was Carlo’s son Davide Ancelotti who was calling all the shots and there’s a possibility he will once again have to take up the first coach’s duty in midweek.

If Carlo Ancelotti misses out then it’s going to be a major setback for Madrid because the Italian is a pro when it comes to European tournaments and without him calling the shots, the Los Blancos will struggle to make quick-fire changes to their tactics and formations.

There’s still some time to go because Real Madrid take on Chelsea on Wednesday so if Carlo Ancelotti tests positive on Monday then the medical team will have only one final shot which will be barely 24 hours before the kick-off.

All’s not bad news though because Eder Militao is expected to be fit for the Chelsea vs Real Madrid.

When he came off the pitch in the 85th minute against Celta Vigo, Militao looked to be struggling but the club have confirmed that the substitution was just precautionary and the 24-year-old was suffering from cramps.
