Celtic FC beat Lazio in the Europa League group stages meaning they have now secured their qualification into the knockout stages.

But now with the Scottish side moving into the next round, there is a chance that they could come up against the likes of Arsenal or Manchester United.

Both the English Premier League sides will be moving into the knockout stages and if they come up against a side like Celtic FC then surely their fans will be making merry.

While the Celtic fans will surely be a bit sceptical about facing these English giants but according to pundit Davie Provan, the Bhoys do have the capability of beating a team like Man United or Arsenal if they were to meet in the knockout stages of the Europa League.

He said[as quoted]: “Manchester United and Arsenal? If Bournemouth and Sheffield United are turning that pair over, why wouldn’t Celtic fancy their chances against them?

“Elsewhere, of clubs likely to parachute in from the Champions League, both Inter Milan and Valencia would be unwelcome but here’s the rub.

“If Celtic top their group, they’re automatically seeded allowing them to avoid the better opposition. That’s crucial because there’ll be nothing for Celts to fear in the unseeded half of the draw.”

Celtic have overcome some big names in Europe in the past which means between Man United or Arsenal is not beyond them.

But in order to achieve this feat, the Scottish outfit will have to ensure that they cause problems for their opponents at home.

There are still two games left to play in the group stages of Europa League with the final group games being played on the 12th of December, 2019.

And then just four days later, the draw for the Round of 32 will be held in Nyon.

Following this, the tournament enters the break period with the teams returning back to action once again in February of next year.
