Chelsea’s handling of older players is a thing that the Blues management has always maintained. No matter who the player is.

When a player is over 30 years old, the Stamford Bridge outfit do not provide him with a long-term deal and if the player is good enough then he will only get a one-year extension to his current contract.

And keeping in line with this ritual, players like Gary Cahill, Cesc Fabregas and David Luiz are expected to leave the club since their contract will expire at the end of the season.

But a couple of weeks ago, Maurizio Sarri had come out to claim that while Gary Cahill was free to leave the club next month but he wanted both Cesc Fabregas and David Luiz to stay beyond the summer.

This gave hope to many a Chelsea fans who wanted these senior pros to stay at the club.

But now reports are suggesting that Cesc Fabregas has made up his mind to leave the club during the January transfer window.

The midfielder has played in just five Premier League games this season under Maurizio Sarri and he now wants to leave Stamford Bridge.

Cesc Fabregas is in the process of finding a new club and it is being suggested that Chelsea will make the decision official by the end of the weekend(the announcement was not made when this article was written).

A number of European clubs have shown interest in signing Cesc Fabregas and it is being believed that AC Milan are the frontrunners in signing the midfielder.

Some reports also suggest that Ligue 1 side AS Monaco want to sign the former Barcelona player but their poor league position could cause a big problem for this deal.
