Chelsea are planning to bring in a few signings during the January transfer window and one of them should be a replacement for Mateo Kovacic.

Kovacic is currently on loan at Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid and the Blues fans would definitely want their club to make the loan deal permanent at the end of the season.

But as per reports, Kovacic’s loan contract does not include a buy clause meaning the player would head back to Real Madrid at the end of the season.

And now as per rumours, Chelsea are planning to make a move for Isco in order to replace the void that would be left behind by Mateo Kovacic.

Isco is currently in his sixth season at the Bernabeu but the player is yet to fulfil his potential at the club.

And this week multiple reports in Spain have claimed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has grown fed up with the attacking midfielder and is ready to offload him.

Chelsea are said to be planning a £70 million bid for the player next month but the Blues will surely be met with some resistance from Arsenal.

Unai Emery has also targetted the midfielder and he is willing to offer Mesut Ozil to Real Madrid in a swap deal for Isco.

And this is where the Gunners have the upper hand.

While Chelsea are more than willing to pay £70 million for the Real Madrid star but the Los Blancos are demanding £100 million for Isco.

We still do not know whether Sarri will be willing to spend that much amount but Arsenal are more than ready to offer Mesut Ozil plus cash in return for Isco.

Isco’s current contract with Real Madrid ends in 2022 so Florentino Perez is in no hurry to offload the midfielder and he would be more than happy to play the waiting game.
