Premier League Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool parted ways with Daniel Sturridge at the end of the last season and it seems the striker has finally found a new club.

Daniel Sturridge was out of contract at Anfield this summer and the club decided not to renew his contract along with Alberto Moreno with Jurgen Klopp saying:

“Alberto is a person whose personality is reflected in how he plays – full of life, full of energy, always positive. An unbelievable character who is always willing to give all of himself for the team.

“Daniel has earned the right to be considered a modern-day Liverpool great, I would think. He came to the club while we were trying to rebuild and re-establish ourselves. Some of the goals he has scored for Liverpool were so, so, so important.

“We will miss them of course, but we can say farewell with the best words possible: Guys, you leave as European champions.”

And there were reports that both Celtic and Rangers were keen to sign him as a free agent during the summer.

The Bhoys had previously tried to bring him on loan when Brendan Rodgers was in charge of the club but somehow that deal did not materialize.

But they still held interest in the player and were ready to battle Steven Gerrard for the signature of the player.

Rangers eagerly wanted to bring Daniel Sturridge onboard during the summer since they are still at risk of losing Alfredo Morelos.

But now it seems that both these clubs are likely to lose out on the England international since reports suggest that the former Liverpool man is going to play in Turkey next season.

As per reports, Daniel Sturridge is in arrived in Turkey yesterday to sign for Trabzonspor.

There were multiple reports which had claimed that the forward wished to stay in England primarily because he did not wish to take a pay cut.

Now though it seems that a wage cut is on the cards as the reports claim that he will be earning only £2.8million a year.

This is a substantial drop from the £6.76million-a-year which he was earning with Liverpool.

But if these wages are true then surely both Celtic and Rangers were not even close to getting their hands on Daniel Sturridge since it would have been a real uphill task for the Premiership clubs to maintain such huge wages.
