Danny Drinkwater has endured a tough time since joining Chelsea from Leicester City in 2017 for a fee of 37.9 million euros.
This season the midfielder had been sent out on loan to Burnley for the first half of the season meaning this week he has once again returned back to Stamford Bridge.
Now though it looks like Frank Lampard is once again planning to send him out with the manager recently admitting that Danny Drinkwater could head out.
While Chelsea surely would want to send out the former Premier League winner on a permanent transfer but as things stand no club is really willing to buy him outright this month.
With Burnley, Drinkwater could only manage one outing in the Premier League and despite his current valuation being at around 6 million euros, no club would be willing to spend that much money on a rusty player.
So right now another short-term loan spell seems to be the only solution but even in that Chelsea have one major condition.
As per reports, the Blues will only let Danny Drinkwater leave if an interested club is willing to pay his full salary.
Right now, the 29-year-old gets £110,000 a week at Chelsea and the Blues do not want to spend a single penny on him when he is out on loan.
While £110,000 a week might not seem much but right now no elite club is interested in signing Danny Drinkwater and for a not-so stable financial club, it will be really difficult for them to pay such a massive wage to one player.

Aston Villa have been keeping tabs on Drinkwater for some time now but it seems like even Newcastle United have now joined the race to sign the out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder.
The interest from both these clubs will surely give Chelsea a lot of hope about sending out the player this month but what remains to be seen is whether both these clubs are willing to pay the full salary or not.
As per Spotrac, the highest-paid Villa player is Tom Heaton who bags £42,000 per week while Newcastle pay the highest salary to Shelvey at £70,000 per week.
