Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been wanted by Arsenal for some time and as per The Sun, West Ham United have now joined the race to sign the Everton man.

The Hammers need to bring in a partner for Michail Antonio for the second half of the season and as per the latest gossip, Moyes wants his management to make a move for DCL in the next few days.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been riddled with injuries this season and so far he’s played only six Premier League games. But in the past few weeks, the 24-year-old has made a comeback from injury and is fit and available for selection.

Will Dominic Calvert-Lewin join Arsenal or West Ham United?

Right now, Arsenal have their full focus on signing Dusan Vlahovic but that deal is nowhere close to completion. And if they fail to sign him then Mikel Arteta plans to make a move for DCL.

There’s no doubt that someone like Dominic Calvert-Lewin will hugely enhance West Ham United’s attacking prowess but if Arsenal shift their focus to the 24-year-old then it will be really hard for Moyes to convince him on a move.

Arsenal have been playing some really good football this season and they are very much in the race to secure a Champions League spot. So it won’t be too hard for the Gunners to convince Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a move this month.

The Hammers have just fallen out of the top four after losing to Manchester United and they badly need some attacking reinforcements if they wish to challenge teams like Spurs and Chelsea during the coming months. They are reportedly willing to meet Everton’s demands so the only then they need to do now is to convince DCL to choose a move to the London Stadium instead of moving to Arsenal.

Will Everton agree to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin during the January transfer window?

Everton have priced Dominic Calvert-Lewin at a value of around £60 million but with a new manager coming in, we don’t think the Toffees will be ready to sell their premier forward this month.

The 24-year-old has scored only three goals in the Premier League this season but he’s still an asset for the club so there’s very little chance the club are going to sell him during the middle of the season.

In the past two seasons, Dominic Calvert-Lewin has netted 29 goals over the past two seasons and his current deal expires in 2025 so Everton are in no hurry to sell him, especially during the January transfer window.

According to Martin Keown, DCL is not expected to move out of Goodison Park this month.

The ex-Gunner said on talkSPORT: “I just can’t see that happening. We are talking about this happening in the January window now.

“When you look at how perilous Everton are, they have been without him for a long period, surely they are not going to allow him to leave.”

Everton are agonisingly close to the relegation zone so it’s even more important they will want to hold onto someone like Calvert-Lewin.
