Manchester United have beaten Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax, according to multiple sources.

Firstly, the Mirror are claiming: “Manchester United have won the race to sign Ajax’s Donny van de Beek after Tottenham failed with an 11th hour bid to snatch the Dutch midfielder.

“United’s chief negotiator Matt Judge moved in to seal an agreement with the Holland international today after being alerted to Spurs’ attempt to hijack the move.

“Van de Beek has agreed a five-year deal – with the option of an extra 12 months.”

And if this was not enough then Sky Sports have also claimed that Manchester United are on the verge of signing Donny van de Beek.

The report: “Manchester United are close to reaching an agreement to sign Donny Van De Beek from Ajax.

‘The Transfer Show reported on Monday that there was a preference for any deal involving him to be completed before Ajax kick off their new season in the Dutch Eredivisie against Sparta Rotterdam on September 13.”

Man United have been having a really poor summer transfer window but if they can land Danny van de Beek ahead of Spurs then surely it will be a massive signing for the Reds Devils.

The 23-year-old has been one of the stars of the Ajax side over the past couple of seasons and he will undoubtedly be a fine addition to the United first-team squad next campaign.

But if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer manages to get the Dutch international on board then he will surely not be making a move for Jack Grealish any more.
