Currently, Arsenal are sitting at the top of the Premier League title and according to Arsene Wenger, his former club are going to become the EPL champions this season.

Arsenal have made a great turnaround under Mikel Arteta and even though they still have a three-point lead at the top of the table, Manchester City have slowly been clawing down the gap.

Arsenal take on Man City on Wednesday night and if the Gunners can beat Pep Guardiola’s side then they will be in the driver’s seat to lift the EPL title.

“I would say yes because I feel the usual threats in the Premier League are all out of the race, and the only threat is City,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

“And even City is not as dominant as they were last year or two years before. And I feel since the start of the season, City was more vulnerable defensively than they were the years before.”

Three points on Wednesday will no doubt be a great boost for Arsenal’s title hopes but unlike Arsene Wenger, we don’t think the Gunners will be able to go all the way.

The first big problem for them will be experience. Arsenal have a very young squad and most of them have not been in any sort of a major title race. Players need to have nerves of steel to be able to keep all the competitors at bay and we doubt if all the players have that.

A loss on Wednesday night will set the alarm bells ringing at the Emirates Stadium and Arsenal are yet to play teams like Chelsea and Liverpool. Also, they have the return fixture against City which is scheduled for the 26th of April.

The second major issue will be the fact that the Gunners have a very small squad so one or two more injuries and Mikel Arteta will have to put his faith in academy players. The likes of Gabriel Jesus and Emile Smith Rowe are already on the sidelines so Arteta cannot afford any more injury setbacks.

Man City and also Manchester United will give it their all to make things uncomfortable for the North London side and we have a feeling that by the end of May, either of the two Manchester sides are going to nick the EPL title from right under Arsenal’s noses.
