Chelsea appointed Frank Lampard as their new boss this summer as Maurizio Sarri returned back to Italy and the Blues legend has an uphill task for the upcoming season.

The London outfit did manage to get back into the Champions League for the upcoming season and also managed to win the Europa League by beating Arsenal.

But despite all this success, the next Premier League season might be a very difficult one since Frank Lampard will not be able to sign any new players during the next transfer windows.

So the job will obviously be a very difficult one but so far Frank Lampard has made a pretty fine start to his pre-season as Chelsea are yet to lose a match.

And speaking before Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Barcelona in Japan, Olivier Giroud revealed what his new boss has been trying to achieve during the pre-season games.

“It seems very clear that he wants the best from us,” Giroud told the club’s official website.

“He wants to help us improve and he has a clear idea of what he wants to achieve. He’s a competitor, he wants to win every single game.

“We’re working on the tactics when we don’t have the ball and playing this 4-2-3-1 we have to know each other a bit better as well.

“This was the first time I’ve played with Christian [Pulisic], with Mason [Mount] and with Kenedy so obviously, it will take time but we feel good. We believe in the gaffer because he’s the right man for this situation.

“He repeats every day that we have to take responsibility and we have to show personality. He’s insisting a lot on this kind of stuff, playing without fear but with confidence.

“I think we will learn quickly.”

For Frank Lampard, there will be no easy start to his managerial career as Chelsea take on Manchester United on the very first day of the new Premier League season and then just four days later they travel to Istanbul for the UEFA Super Cup final vs Liverpool.
