Rangers FC are reportedly interested in signing Birmingham City centre-forward Greg Stewart as a free agent this summer.

Greg Stewart has spent most of his professional career in Scotland but back in 2016, he moved to England to join Birmingham City.

But the 29-year-old has hardly played any football for the Championship side as he has been moving across various Scottish clubs on loan spells.

This season, Greg Stewart has been out on loan to two Premiership clubs.

During the first half of the season, he was with Kilmarnock where he made a superb impact scoring goals and providing assists at will.

But during the second half of the season, he has been with Aberdeen, and to be honest, he has failed to have the same sort of impact as he had with Killie.

Stewart is set to become a free agent at the end of the season and there is no indication that Garry Monk wants him back at Birmingham.

Rangers currently have three strikers at their disposal but Kyle Lafferty is expected to leave at the end of the season and it looks like Gerrard wants to bring in Greg Stewart as a replacement for the outgoing forward.

The Aberdeen loanee though has remained tight-lipped about potential interest from the Gers saying: “No. I just want to finish the season strong here. The summer will take care of itself. I just want to focus on getting that third place.”

If Greg Stewart does decide to join Rangers then he will potentially be the third choice striker for the Gers.

But we believe that this gamble is worth taking since there is a heavy chance that Alfredo Morelos might be on his way out of the club in which case, Stewart will be automatically pushed up the pecking order.
