A report in Diario Sport has suggested that Enzo Fernandez is not happy with life at Chelsea and he has offered himself to Barcelona in a summer move.

This news has come as a surprise to many people, especially after his superb performance against Aston Villa in the 4th round of the FA Cup and it seems like the rumours have upset Fernandez’s agent Uriel Perez as well.

Perez has reportedly made it clear that Enzo is fully committed to the Chelsea cause and following this journalist Ben Jacobs has also claimed that the defensive midfielder isn’t going anywhere.

Ben Jacobs has said via GIVE ME SPORT: “Usually we speak about rumours and fake news as being unsettling, and I think it definitely irked the Enzo Fernandez camp because it is so untrue. But I think it also put a bit of fire in the belly.

“I definitely think it contributed to prompting that exuberant celebration, so Enzo Fernandez, his camp and Chelsea might just have the last laugh based upon that fake news. It has been used to prove a point.

“Usually, these kinds of stories are distracting and irritating to players because they create unwanted media headlines, but I think that story blew up to such an extent that the agent had to respond to it and dismiss it as fake news. Fernandez used it as an opportunity to show how much he is in love with the Chelsea project.”

Chelsea paid around £106 million to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica and he’s signed a £180,000-per-week contract until the summer of 2031.

The 23-year-old has been one of the marquee signings under the Todd Boehly ownership so there’s no way the Blues will allow him to leave after just one and a half seasons.

Despite a major revamp of the squad, Enzo Fernandez has done pretty decent in the central role and if he can form a good sync with Moises Caicedo then we believe his performances will hit the next level. Caicedo is still adjusting to life at Stamford Bridge while Romeo Lavia has played only one game for Chelsea which is why Enzo has had to constantly play with new partners.

He’s started 18 out of the 20 Premier League games that the Blues have played this season so it’s clear that Pochettino has full faith in him. This season, the midfielder has scored six goals in 29 appearances for the club and so far he has a rating of 7.2 out of 10.

There are rumours that a few Chelsea players feel they haven’t done the right thing by signing such long-term contracts but we are pretty sure Enzo isn’t one of them.
