England players are generally overhyped by the British media and there are numerous examples of such players who have been touted to be greats but in reality, they have turned out to be average players. Marcus Rashford could very well turn out to be one of them as the Manchester United man just cannot seem to get back his confidence and more importantly, his form.

After a poor EURO display, Rashford’s career has gone down a spiral and right now, the forward is on the brink of turning into a failed project.

He had another pathetic performance in a United shirt, this time against Everton and speaking after the match, ex-United defender Rio Ferdinand has sounded the alarm bells in terms of his poor displays.

“He’s left me worried and I’m asking a lot of questions about what is going on behind the scenes,” Ferdinand told BT Sport, as quoted by Sportbible.

“Slumped shoulders, not as confident. I think it stems from the uncertainty of the football club. He’s a local boy, who is desperate for this football club to do well.

“He grew up on success, it’s all he saw. It’s deception as a football player that you hide what you’re really feeling.

“I don’t think he can hide it through his body language. He wants some success back at the club.”

Is Marcus Rashford another major English failure?

Last season, Marcus Rashford scored 11 goals in 37 league matches but this time around, he’s netted only four in 20 outings. Out of these 20 matches, he’s started only 10.

The forward has hit a new level of low and his performances are so poor that Ralf Rangnick is currently choosing Anthony Elanga over the 24-year-old.

Rashford has also reportedly thrown tantrums claiming that he is ready to move out of Manchester United if his future is not secure at the club so this may be the perfect moment for the OT outfit to get rid of him.

One more poor season and he will turn into Danny Welbeck 2.0 which is why Man United should be smart and get value for him while they still can.

Anthony Elanga is shaping up to be a very good player and now that Jadon Sancho has settled into the club, the United management should not fear losing Marcus Rashford.

Rather than hinting at an exit, Rashford should be working doubly harder to get his season back on track and this is exactly the kind of attitude that the United management needs to get rid of.

Under Ferguson, there was no player who was deemed bigger than the club and it’s high time that this key value is reapplied once again.
